Rules and How To Join

:bulletpink::bulletgreen: Hello everybody! As it says under our group info, we are a club that originated at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Meaning that this group is closed to those students not from SCAD.

:bulletred::bulletred: So how do we know if you are/were a SCAD student or not? Well unless we know you personally, when you apply to be a member you must give us your SCAD student e-mail

If you're not from SCAD you can go ahead and watch us, and if you have any questions, make sure to ask!

Group Info

We are the Sequential Art Society, a club formed at The Savannah College of Art and Design by Savannah College of Art and Design students.

We exist to both promote and appreciate the art of comics and cartoons and to help students understand their opportunities for a career in the Sequential Arts.

This group is for SCAD students and SAS goers alike to share their art and get critiques from their fellow students.

Hey all you deviants! Special Announcement!

For any current undergrad or grad SCAD students itching to draw for our club!

We need you to design flyers for our SAS meetings.. The winner (or winners!) will have their designs printed and put up all over SCAD, and will receive their choice from our library of graphic novels and other books (up to a $50 dollar value wow!).

The design must be 8.5"x11" (either portrait or landscape orientation), and include the name, meeting time, and location (Sequential Art Society, 2-4 pm on Sundays, 2nd floor
of the Student Center). You man include links to our various social media if desired.

Email us your design at 8.5"x11" at 300 dpi by midnight on September 15th!

Any specific ones or just in general?
TheGeekling Featured By Owner Jun 26, 2012  Student General Artist
In general. How's the class? Are they mean? etc.

They're all nice. Don't worry about how nice or mean they are. Your biggest problem is "you". Professors will keep being nice as long as you do your work and TRY HARD. They don't care if you're good or not because being good means nothing to them. There are good artists that are terrible people etc etc and vise versa. If you're bad they can work with you to make you good, if you're good they'll work to make you better.

We have quite a few professors:

Fish - Head of the department. Really nice guy.
Dove - Probably the nicest professor in the department.
Gildersleeve - I didn't have a class with him but I hear he's kickass.
Jantze - Hard but worth it if you want to try your hardest. Tough grader, probably the toughest.
Larison - Same as Jantze. Really fun and does AMAZING sculpture classes.
Goto - Super laid back. It's all on you to get stuff done in his classes because he won't remind you. Don't. Fall. Behind. Super nice and Dove's best buddy.
Lyle - Probably the most famous teacher (Spiderman + Robin). You either love him or hate him. Kick's your butt in a very good way.
Mia - Didn't have class with her but I hear nothing but good things.
Julie Collins - Sweet and fun. Her computer classes are amazing.
Duncan - Laid back, knows his stuff very well. Amazing for hisory of comics class.
Lowe - He only teaches one class and he is AMAZING. I never took his class but man.. I know it's good. Very Busy guy.
Hudson - Worked with Nasa and a bunch of other places. Super fun classes, laid back like Goto. You either love him or hate him.
Ralph - Worked with Nickelodeon magazine. Very cartoony style.
Kneece - Amazing writing professor. Talking story with him is a lot of fun. He only does the writing classes :)

And I think that's it.. Sometimes we have guest professors but that's something else. Hope this helps. Your question was way too broad.
